From the years 2019 to 2022 KWAI has been chartered by Ocean Voyages Institute to detect and remove ghost nets and ocean debris from the great pacific garbage patch.
In the 5 trips we have accomplished we successfully removed over a 110 tons of mostly delict fishing gear and have managed to establish our operation as the the most economical and ecological method for deep ocean cleanup.
